This post is dedicated to my nephew Sam who spent a college semester last fall in Athens, Greece through his engineering studies. (Happy Birthday, Sam!) Interwoven into our perception of beauty and the “magic” that happens while making art of any kind, Sacred Geometry, the Golden Ratio, or Pythagorean Theory (it has many names) exposes how mathematics/engineering and art are like peas in a pod. It is the intuitive wordless nudge that says; put that brushstroke over there, or its right, or its "done”. Leonardo Da Vinci believed Art was indisputably connected with science and nature. In his drawing of the Vitruvian Man (inspired by the writings of Roman Architect Vitruvius), Da Vinci illustrated the Sacred Geometry within the geometry of human form.
