POETRY IS ART IS POETRY
A Conversation With Artist Dawn Stafford & Poet Jack Ridl
Wednesday, September 14, 2022
Meet & Greet: 6:00pm–6:30pm; Program: 6:30pm–8:30pm Saugatuck Douglas District Library
Dawn and Jack can be described as “lyrical artists.” During this conversation they will explore and reveal the ways their sensibilities and visions more often that not result in works that evoke the other’s medium: Dawn’s paintings inviting a lyrically poetic response; Jack’s poems inviting a lyrically visualized interaction. They will welcome the audience to enter the conversation at any time. As in the studio, let’s create an insightful and delightful time together.
JACK RIDL is Poet Laureate of Douglas. He is the author of 14 books including national award-winning collections of poetry. The Carnegie Foundation named him Michigan Professor of the Year; more than 100 of his students are published authors.
